How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manufacturing Team Leader (Permanent Nights)
    Location: Wrexham
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Salary
    Training Rate: £17.62 per hour

    Qualified Team Leader Rate: £19.32 per hour (upon successful completion of training)

    Working Hours

    Training Period (First Month):

    Monday to Friday

    6:00am – 3:00pm

    Permanent Shift (Following Successful Training):

    Permanent Night Shift

    12-hour shifts

    4-day working week

    Progression to the Manufacturing Team Leader rate and permanent night shift is subject to the successful completion of all required training and competency assessments.

    About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Manufacturing Team Leader to join their production team in Wrexham.

    This is a hands-on leadership role where you will operate production machinery while leading and supporting the night shift team. Acting as the key link between the Operations Manager and production employees, you will ensure effective communication between shifts, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and help deliver production targets.

    The successful candidate will combine strong manufacturing experience with excellent leadership skills, ensuring production targets, quality standards, health & safety requirements, and team performance expectations are consistently achieved.

    Key Responsibilities
    Lead, motivate and support your production team to achieve daily operational targets.

    Operate machinery within your department while overseeing team performance.

    Act as the communication link between management and production employees.

    Manage employee performance and discipline in line with company policies and procedures.

    Complete employee Records of Conversation where appropriate.

    Ensure all quality procedures are followed, including:

    Verifying production paperwork has been completed correctly.

    Ensuring first-off inspections are carried out and signed off.

    Investigating non-conforming products, identifying root causes, and completing all required documentation before the end of the shift.

    Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping and 6S throughout the department.

    Plan and coordinate labour resources to meet production requirements, including holiday cover, sickness cover and overtime.

    Adjust staffing levels to achieve daily production and throughput targets.

    Prioritise workloads and manage production schedules using run-to lists.

    Complete detailed verbal and written shift handovers.

    Identify training and development needs within the team and coordinate training plans.

    Monitor machine performance and production output, reporting any issues to management.

    Report equipment breakdowns promptly and follow up to ensure urgent maintenance is completed.

    Support tooling, machine, product trials and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Skills & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:

    Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

    Previous Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior Operator experience.

    Strong machining and manufacturing knowledge.

    The ability to work independently and use initiative.

    Excellent communication and leadership skills.

    Experience prioritising workloads to achieve production targets.

    A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

    The ability to coach, motivate and develop team members.

    A good understanding of quality standards, health & safety procedures and manufacturing processes.

    A professional approach when handling confidential information.
