How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller to join one of Europe's leading specialist engineering and construction contractors, delivering complex, mission-critical projects across the UK and Europe.

The business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering technically demanding schemes within sectors including data centres, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy and critical infrastructure. With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth across the UK, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking contractor that invests in both its people and long-term career development.

You'll be joining the team on a major battery energy storage facility in Blyth. This landmark project will play a significant role in supporting the UK's transition to cleaner energy by delivering large scale battery storage infrastructure that helps improve grid resilience and supports renewable power generation.

Whilst the project is highly technical, previous data centre or energy project experience is not essential. Candidates with Document Control experience gained within the construction industry are encouraged to apply.

    The Role

Working alongside the project delivery team, you'll be responsible for ensuring all project documentation is accurately managed throughout the construction lifecycle. You'll act as the central point for document control, maintaining quality standards and ensuring information is issued correctly to both internal and external stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    * Manage all incoming and outgoing project documentation using the company's document management system.

    * Maintain drawing registers, document trackers and revision logs.

    * Ensure all drawings, RFIs, technical submissions and project documentation are correctly distributed.

    * Liaise with site management, design teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client to coordinate documentation.

    * Monitor document workflows to ensure deadlines are achieved.

    * Ensure compliance with company document control procedures and project quality standards.

    * Support project teams with administration relating to document management.

    * Assist with project close-out documentation and handover packs.

    * Produce reports on document status and outstanding information.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry.

    * Experience using document management systems such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360) or similar.

    * Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

    * Ability to prioritise workloads within a fast-paced project environment.

    * Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across project teams.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary and benefits package.

    * Opportunity to work on a flagship energy infrastructure project.

    * Long-term career prospects with a rapidly growing international contractor.

    * Exposure to high-value, technically complex construction projects.

    * Supportive team environment with genuine opportunities for progression.

    * Stable pipeline of work across the UK and Europe.

If you're an experienced Document Controller looking to join a market leading contractor on a landmark project in the North East, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today for a confidential discussion
