How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Quantity Surveyor (Water Infrastructure / Utilities)

Are you a Quantity Surveyor with NEC contract experience looking to work on major water and utility infrastructure projects across AMP8 and beyond?

We're supporting a growing consultancy delivering commercial and project services to some of the UK's leading water companies, including Yorkshire Water, Northumbrian Water, United Utilities and Severn Trent Water. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support a portfolio of infrastructure projects across key frameworks.

This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, excellent career development opportunities and exposure to high-profile capital delivery programmes within the UK water sector.

    The Role

Working within an established commercial team, you will support the successful delivery of projects from contract award through to final account, building strong relationships with both clients and contractors.

    Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the commercial management of projects from inception through to completion.
Acting as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
    Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
Cost planning, estimating and budget management.
    Providing procurement and tendering support.
    Preparing and reviewing tender documentation.
    Contract administration and commercial reporting.
Monitoring project costs and forecasting performance.
    Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
Attending client meetings and undertaking site visits.
Managing multiple projects across a range of infrastructure programmes.
Supporting senior commercial staff in delivering successful project outcomes.

    About You

We are keen to hear from candidates with:

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, construction, engineering or utilities projects.
    Working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
    Post-contract commercial management experience.
Cost reporting, forecasting and contract administration skills.
Strong organisational and stakeholder management abilities.
Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
    Desirable experience:

Water industry or wider utilities sector experience.
Progression towards MRICS or MCICES status.
    Pre-contract and tender documentation experience.
Consultancy or client-side project delivery experience.

    Salary & Benefits

    Salary up to £65,000.
Annual bonus of up to 6%.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
Pension contribution of 4% employee / 5% employer.
    Professional membership fees paid.
    Company laptop and mobile phone.
    Training and career development support.
    Life assurance (4x annual salary).
    Employee Assistance Programme.
    Healthcare cash plan.
    Enhanced family-friendly benefits.
    Flexible and hybrid working.

    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation at a pivotal time for the UK water sector. You'll work across major AMP8 programmes, gain exposure to high-value infrastructure projects and benefit from clear career progression within a supportive and collaborative environment.

If you're a Quantity Surveyor looking for your next move within the water, utilities or infrastructure sectors, please apply today or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
