How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    LV/AP Tester (Site-Based)

    Location: Hemel Hemstead 
    Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Holiday Pay + Travel Expenses from Local Station + Excellent Benefits
    Employment Type: Permanent
    Hours: Full-Time

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced LV/AP Tester to join a leading electrical engineering team working on a major project in the Hemel Hemstead area. The role is site-based and will involve carrying out electrical inspection, testing, energisation and commissioning activities on LV systems, with all energisation works undertaken under instruction and in accordance with company procedures.

    The project is easily accessible via Hemel Hemstead essful candidates to become an Authorised Person (AP) for PME procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out electrical inspection and testing of LV installations.
    Undertake energisation and de-energisation activities under authorised instruction.
    Complete testing documentation and certification accurately.
    Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and company procedures.
    Follow safe systems of work and maintain the highest health & safety standards.
    Assist with fault finding and verification of electrical installations.
    Work closely with engineers, supervisors and commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
    Participate in internal AP (Authorised Person) training and competency assessments.
    Maintain high standards of workmanship and compliance on site.

    Requirements

    City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing.
    Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification (18th Edition or equivalent).
    Minimum 3 years' experience carrying out electrical inspection and testing.
    Valid ECS/JIB Electrician Card.
    Good understanding of electrical installations and testing procedures.
    Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Excellent communication and organisational skills.

    Desirable

    Previous experience working on large infrastructure, rail or major construction projects.
    Existing LV Authorised Person (AP) experience (not essential).
    Experience with PME procedures.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
