How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HSQE Advisor

    £50,000-£55,000 DOE + Company Car + Excellent Package

    Remote/Home Based (Southern UK) | UK Travel | Visits to Derbyshire HQ

    You will do

    As HSQE Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture whilst supporting operational excellence across multiple rail infrastructure projects. Responsibilities will include:

    Supporting the implementation and continual improvement of integrated HSQE management systems

    Advising project teams on Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental best practice

    Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews

    Supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions

    Reviewing risk assessments, RAMS and safe systems of work

    Promoting compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards

    Delivering toolbox talks, training and HSQE awareness sessions

    Supporting environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement

    Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams

    Helping drive a proactive culture focused on safety, quality and operational excellence

    You will have

    To be successful as HSQE Advisor, you will ideally bring:

    NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)

    Degree or equivalent in Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality or related discipline

    At least five years' experience within the UK rail sector

    Previous experience as an HSQE Advisor, SHEQ Advisor, HSEQ Advisor, QHSE Advisor or Health & Safety Advisor

    Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems

    Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations

    Good understanding of UK Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation

    Experience working on rail infrastructure or Network Rail projects

    Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills

    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the Southern region

    Desirable:

    TechIOSH, ISEP, CQI or similar professional membership

    PTS certification

    Internal or Lead Auditor qualification

    Knowledge of CDM Regulations and rail safety standards
