How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Opportunity: Shuttering Joiner

    Location: Blyth, Northumberland

Pay Rate: £25.00 per hour (CIS)

Hours: 50 Hours per week (10-Hour Shifts, Monday - Friday)

    Duration: Ongoing, multi-phase project

    The Opportunity

Are you a time-served Formwork Specialist looking to maximise your weekly hours on a high-value, fast-paced project?

Search Consultancy has been appointed to secure an experienced Shuttering Joiner for a major civil engineering and reinforced concrete (RC) development in Blyth. This site is operating on fixed 10-hour daily shifts (50 hours per week), making it a premium placement for tradespeople who want consistent, high-volume hours without weekend working.

If you hold a Blue or Gold CSCS card, take pride in clean formwork, and want long-term work with an industry-leading contractor, this is an outstanding local opportunity.

    Your Role & Responsibilities

Working directly alongside site engineers, steel fixers, and concrete gangs, you will play a key role in delivering heavy structural concrete elements:

System & Modular Formwork: Assembling, erecting, and securing proprietary shuttering systems (e.g., Peri, Doka, MEVA) as well as traditional timber shuttering for retaining walls, ground beams, columns, suspended slabs, and heavy foundations.

Precision Layout & Alignment: Setting up panels strictly to line, level, and structural drawings, ensuring all formwork is fully braced, propped, and sealed to withstand high-pressure concrete pours.

Custom Timber Fabrication: Accurately measuring and constructing bespoke timber box-outs, void formers, stop-ends, and holding-down bolt templates ahead of pour deadlines.

Striking & Material Care: Safely striking, cleaning, repairing, and re-oiling shuttering panels post-cure to maximize material efficiency and maintain rapid site rotation.

Site Safety at Height & In Excavations: Maintaining flawless safety protocols across extended 10-hour shifts, including working near open excavations, crane lifts, and high-level working platforms.

    What We're Looking For

To meet the site's strict civil engineering and health and safety compliance rules, applicants must possess:

CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Formwork) CSCS card is strictly mandatory. (Green cards cannot be accepted).

Formwork Background: Demonstrable, hands-on experience in shuttering joinery across heavy civils, commercial RC frames, or infrastructure works.

Tools & Equipment: Your own complete kit of professional formwork hand tools, 110V/cordless power tools (saws, impact drivers, spirit levels, lasers), and standard 5-point PPE.

Commitment to Hours: The stamina and reliability to maintain high-quality workmanship across full 10-hour daily schedules.

Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.

    Why Work With Search?

At Search Consultancy, we prioritize keeping top-tier tradespeople in continuous, high-paying work. By joining this project in Blyth, you benefit from:

High Earning Potential: A top-tier market rate of £25.00 per hour paid under CIS.

Guaranteed Big Hours: Full 10-hour shifts running Monday through Friday-get your full 50 hours in during the week and keep your weekends free.

Convenient Northumberland Location: Easy site access from across Blyth, Ashington, Cramlington, and the wider Tyneside region.

Reliable Weekly Payroll: Dependable, transparent CIS payments hitting your bank account every single Friday.

Ongoing Continuity: Direct access to our North East civil and construction desk, putting you first in line for future long-term projects across the region.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
