How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Manufacturing Planner

    Ampthill

    FTC until May 2027

    Paying up to £46,000

    Please note - Due to the nature of the work, you'll be required to be eligible to obtain a high level of UK Security Clearance

    Responsibilities:

    Develop and maintain a robust production plan to support the manufacturing projects within the Special Projects business area.
    A plan is required that informs Production Operations of the daily/weekly plan to meet Special Projects requirements for the manufacture of hardware principally for development programmes.
    A near-term (weekly / fortnightly)outlook plan is required to give understanding to projects that machine and labour capacity is available to meet their near-term requirements and understand the capacity availability for opportunities when bidding.
    The role will work closely with the SP Master Planning Lead, Manufacturing Team Leads, Technicians and Manufacturing Engineering to understand the resources available.
    Managing the SAP demand for development work from cradle to grave. Influencing a state of readiness of development work through SAP Planning and managing a LOB / AOL per project with a responsibility of material management on all projects.

    Experience required:

    Strong knowledge and experience of SAP Production Planning and Material Control processes.
    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    Proven experience in production planning, capacity planning and resource management within a manufacturing environment.
    Ability to interpret and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
    Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across multiple business functions.
    Ability to analyse data, identify risks and implement effective planning solutions.
    Experience of managing subcontractor orders and external manufacturing suppliers.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
