How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer
    Location: Barrow-in-Furness
    Contract: 2-Year Contract
    Grade: Grade G
    Reporting To: Hub Engineering Manager
    Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer – Barrow-in-Furness
    Land and Sea Resources are currently recruiting for a Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer to join the engineering team based in Barrow-in-Furness on a 2-year contract.
    The Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer will provide specialist rotating equipment engineering support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Morecambe Hub Product Gas Compressors (PGCs).
    The role will work closely with operations, maintenance, reliability, integrity, projects, contractors, and vendors to optimise equipment performance and maintain high standards of safety and asset integrity.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer with a strong background in the oil and gas industry, particularly in reciprocating gas engines and compressors.
    Key Responsibilities
    As the Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
    * Providing rotating equipment engineering support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Morecambe Hub PGCs.
    * Supporting and optimising preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in collaboration with maintenance and operations teams.
    * Troubleshooting rotating equipment issues, carrying out root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
    * Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and company engineering requirements.
    * Supporting inspection, testing, and condition monitoring programmes to maintain asset integrity and maximise equipment life.
    * Providing technical input into capital projects and modifications, including equipment specifications, design reviews, and commissioning activities.
    * Reviewing and approving rotating equipment work scopes, job packs, and method statements.
    * Overseeing contractors and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
    * Supporting turnaround, commissioning, and start-up activities as required.
    * Participating in safety studies and risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA.
    * Supporting Management of Change processes by assessing the impact of operational and design changes.
    * Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including drawings, datasheets, calculations, and operating and maintenance procedures.
    * Undertaking any other associated duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
    Essential Experience and Skills
    The successful Senior PGC Rotating Equipment Engineer will ideally have:
    * Proven experience working within onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, maintenance, and asset integrity environments.
    * Strong knowledge and practical experience of rotating equipment used within oil and gas production facilities.
    * In-depth expertise in reciprocating gas engines and compressors.
    * Experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies and reliability engineering programmes.
    * Knowledge of offshore safety case requirements and permit-to-work systems.
    * Strong understanding of relevant industry standards, including API, ASME, ISO, and DNV where applicable.
    * Experience working with contractors and vendors and providing technical oversight.
    * Experience supporting projects, modifications, commissioning, start-up, and turnaround activities.
    Qualifications
    * Degree qualified, ideally with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering.
    * Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
