How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client BAE Systems, operating within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Improvement Engineering Lead to join their team in Samlesbury. This contract role, operating inside IR35, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a prestigious project within the aerospace sector.

    Please note, you will need to hold Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK before application.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leading and managing engineering improvement projects within the manufacturing domain
    Developing and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity
    Identifying and analysing performance bottlenecks, proposing innovative solutions to address them
    Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements within the Defence & Security sector
    Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
    Providing technical expertise and guidance to team members and stakeholders
    Preparing detailed reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes
    Ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and objectives

    Job Requirements:

    Experience in an engineering role within the manufacturing industry, preferably within Defence & Security or aerospace
    Proven ability to lead and manage projects, driving operational improvements
    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose innovative solutions
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Capability to work full-time on-site in Samlesbury
    Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
