How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Following the promotion of a valued team member, we're looking to hire a Customer Service Advisor to take on this position with perhaps one of the nicest places to work in the area!

Please note: Interviews will be held between 6th and 14th August

Job Title: Customer Service Advisor (business to business enquiries, not taking calls from the public!)
Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm with an early finish on Fridays
Salary: The plan is to pay around £27,000 but please do let us know your salary requirements. In addition to the salary, this role can offer a very good benefits package including private medical healthcare, 25 days holiday plus all bank holidays and the office closes over the Christmas period too!
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, GL10 - with the option to work from home two days per week if you would like to, once you’ve been trained.
    Job status: Permanent
Planned start date: This position is available immediately, or we're happy to wait for the right person if you have to give notice to your current employer.

    About the job
Joining a small group of friendly people in smart, modern offices, your role as Customer Service Advisor will see you taking enquiries from business customers over the phone and by email and then providing information and processing data regarding the company’s product range, whilst making sure that the best customer service is given at all times.

Working in a small team supporting key business customers, this is not a call centre type job so you won't be handling huge volumes of enquiries from members of the public. With business customers in a range of industries, to include government departments, and offering a high value, high quality product range, this position offers a great experience in a very nice environment.

You will be given time to learn the computer system being used and you'll also be given great training on the company's product range so you'll feel confident to deliver a great service along with the rest of the small team.

The offices are all newly decorated, with new equipment and modern break out rooms for taking lunch or getting to know your new colleagues. There's even a table tennis table and other fun things to use at break times if that's your thing (you won't be forced to use them if it isn't!).

Role and Responsibilities for Customer Service Advisor

Handling business customer enquiries by telephone and e-mail
Responding to customer enquiries in a timely manner
Inputting customer orders onto computer database
    Coordinating with delivery firms
Communicating with internal departments to make sure customer orders are processed and delivered

Skills & Experience for Customer Service Advisor
To be successful in this role, it’s important that you've used a customer order processing software package before. This might be something like Oracle, Unit4, SAP, JD Edwards, NetSuite, Acumatica or anything which you can type customer details into or look up and access the details you need. You should have previous customer service experience too.

    You’ll also need:

clear and professional, yet friendly communication style
to be accurate, with great attention to detail
the ability to manage your own workload
the ability to show patience and understanding, helping customers wherever you can
sound computer skills to use the customer order processing software plus Microsoft Word, basic Excel and Microsoft Outlook for emails
This job might suit someone who has held job titles such as: customer service advisor; customer service representative; customer service assistant; internal sales support assistant; internal sales advisor; internal sales adviser; sales support assistant; sales support advisor; sales support adviser; account coordinator; account manager; key account coordinator; key account manager
