How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working across a varied manufacturing environment, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, support site improvement projects and help maintain high standards of safety, compliance and housekeeping.

Applications are welcomed from candidates with a relevant trade background, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical maintenance or building services. This opportunity may also suit a self-employed tradesperson or contractor with site-based experience who is now looking for the security and benefits of a permanent position.

    Key Responsibilities

Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures and contribute to a positive site safety culture.

Support and deliver planned preventative maintenance programmes.

Carry out general maintenance, repairs and fault-finding across buildings, equipment and site services.

Undertake work within your trade competency while coordinating specialist support where required.

Assist with the installation, modification and commissioning of equipment and facilities systems.

Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests across the site.

Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and supporting documentation.

Monitor stock levels and request spare parts, tools and maintenance materials when required.

Provide basic guidance on facilities systems and emergency procedures where appropriate.

Help maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment, including buildings, plant areas and external spaces.

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential

Previous practical experience in a maintenance, facilities, construction, building services or site-based trade role.

A recognised qualification or strong vocational background in a relevant discipline, such as plumbing, electrical installation, mechanical maintenance, heating and ventilation, or general building services.

Experience working safely on an operational, commercial, industrial, manufacturing or construction site.

Good practical fault-finding, repair and problem-solving skills.

Ability to use technical drawings, manuals and equipment information where required.

    Good organisational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritise maintenance requests and take ownership of tasks.

A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

Ability to work at height and undertake manual handling duties when required.

    Desirable

Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

A recognised trade qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent, in plumbing, electrical, mechanical or another relevant discipline.

Knowledge of building regulations, permit-to-work systems and contractor management.

Experience using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).

    Experience of planned preventative maintenance.

Previous self-employed or contracting experience involving maintenance or trade work across customer or operational sites.

    What’s on Offer

    Competitive salary.

    Excellent benefits package.

    Permanent, full-time employment.

A varied, hands-on role within a supportive manufacturing environment.

    Training and development opportunities.

An excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson or contractor looking to move into a stable, permanent site-based position
