How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As a CNC Setter Operator (Nights), you'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components with precision. This role is key to ensuring smooth production processes and contributing to the success of the engineering and manufacturing operations.

    Experience:

    Either apprentice trained + 3-4 years post apprenticeship
    or 8 years+ relevant work experienceMachines:

    Any CNC, multi axis (5+)

    Software:

    FANUC - You do not need to write the programs as this is done by the Applications department; however, you must be able to read them and understand them to help spot possible issues.
    G-code (generic code) and M-code (machine code) knowledge, as if G and M codes are not known, then it is impossible to be able to read the program as stated above.Industry:

    High precision engineering and/or small batch production

    A successful CNC Setter Operator (Nights) should have:

    Proven experience in setting and operating CNC machines.
    Strong technical skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
    A solid understanding of machining processes and materials.
    Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    £50,096.14 to £53,738.77, dependent on the level of experience.
    Working pattern: Monday to Thursday inclusive 20:45 to 06:00 with an unpaid break of 30 minutes
    33 working days of holiday, including 25 days annual leave and 8 statutory holidays.
