How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Stafford
    Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:00 - 17:00

    THE ROLE
    As a Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator, you will receive full training while learning how to accurately assess vehicle damage, prepare repair estimates, and liaise with customers, insurers, and the workshop team.
    Using your existing bodyshop knowledge, you'll develop into a key member of the accident repair operation, ensuring repairs are correctly estimated, authorised, and completed efficiently to the highest industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Learn how to inspect and assess accident-damaged vehicles
    ·Prepare accurate repair estimates using industry estimating systems under the guidance of experienced Vehicle Damage Assessors
    ·Identify repair methods, replacement parts, labour times, and repair costs
    ·Liaise with customers, insurance companies, engineers, and repair teams throughout the repair journey
    ·Work closely with Panel, Paint, and MET Technicians to ensure repair methods are accurate and achievable
    ·Assist in monitoring repair progress and updating customers on vehicle status
    ·Ensure all estimates comply with manufacturer repair methods, insurance requirements, and BS10125 standards
    ·Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining accurate documentation and repair records

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for an experienced Bodyshop Technician who is eager to develop their career into estimating and has the ambition to become a successful Vehicle Damage Assessor.

    ·Previous experience within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
    ·Background as a Panel Beater, MET Technician, Paint Technician, Prepper, Multi-Skilled Technician, or Vehicle Technician
    ·Strong understanding of modern vehicle repair methods and accident repair processes
    ·Good technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail
    ·Strong communication and customer service skills
    ·Computer literate with the willingness to learn estimating software and bodyshop management systems
    ·Well organised with excellent planning and problem-solving abilities
    ·Positive attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop professionally
    ·Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
    ·Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
