How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    VEHICLE TECHNICIAN
    Location: Newcastle
    Salary: OTE Up to £39,730 (Uncapped) | Basic Salary £31,000 - £34,000 (Depending on Qualifications)
    Hours: 40 Hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm | 1 in 3 Saturdays, 8:30am - 12:30pm

    THE ROLE
    As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a key role within the workshop, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while ensuring every vehicle is completed to the highest manufacturer standards.
    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work
    ·Completing vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic technology
    ·Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
    ·Carrying out repairs efficiently and to manufacturer standards
    ·Identifying additional work and reporting findings accurately
    ·Completing workshop documentation and job cards
    ·Working collaboratively with the wider workshop team to maximise efficiency and productivity
    ·Delivering exceptional workmanship and first-class customer service
     
    ABOUT YOU
    We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
    ·NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
    ·Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic within the automotive industry
    ·Experience gained in either a franchised dealership or independent garage
    ·Strong servicing, maintenance, and diagnostic skills
    ·Previous Audi or Volkswagen Group experience is advantageous but not essential, as full manufacturer training will be provided
    ·A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
    ·Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
    ·Full UK Manual Driving Licence
    Alternative job titles may include: Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Senior Vehicle Technician, Master Technician or Car Mechanic.
