How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Court of Protection Solicitor (NQ - 3 PQE)

Location: Swindon (Hybrid Working Available - Applicants should be within a commutable distance)
    Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a leading UK law firm for a Court of Protection Solicitor to join its highly regarded Property & Financial Affairs team based in Swindon.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Newly Qualified Solicitor through to around 3 years' PQE looking to build a specialist career within one of the UK's largest and most respected Court of Protection teams. The department is recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and has an excellent reputation for supporting vulnerable clients and their families.

Applicants should be within a commutable distance of Swindon, as the role offers hybrid working while maintaining regular collaboration with colleagues in the office.

Whether you're qualifying into Court of Protection or already have experience in Property & Financial Affairs work, you'll be joining a collaborative team with excellent supervision, genuine career progression and exposure to high-quality, rewarding work.

    The Role

Working alongside experienced Partners and senior lawyers, you'll assist with a varied caseload of Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship matters and Personal Injury Trusts while gradually developing responsibility for your own files.

    Your work will include:

Assisting with the management of Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship matters.
Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision.
Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports.
Supporting clients with the day-to-day management of their financial affairs, including budgeting, property transactions and payments.
Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts.
Building strong relationships with clients, families, case managers and other professionals.
Working closely with healthcare professionals, financial advisers and internal legal teams.
Attending client meetings and visits where required.
Developing your knowledge across areas including statutory wills, care funding and benefits.

    About You

Applications are welcomed from Newly Qualified Solicitors through to approximately 3 years' PQE.

    You will ideally have:

Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales.
Experience of, or a genuine interest in, Court of Protection Property & Financial Affairs work.
Excellent communication and client care skills.
Strong drafting, organisational and analytical abilities.
A proactive and collaborative approach to your work.
The ability to manage competing priorities while delivering excellent client service.
Candidates qualifying into this area or looking to specialise in Court of Protection are strongly encouraged to apply.

    What's on Offer?

Alongside the opportunity to work within a nationally recognised specialist team, the successful candidate will benefit from:

    Competitive salary.
    Hybrid working.
Minimum 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
    Birthday leave.
    Pension scheme.
    Life assurance.
    Professional fees paid.
    Employee Assistance Programme.
    Corporate Social Responsibility volunteering days.
    Employee referral scheme.
Additional employee discounts and wellbeing benefits.
If you're an NQ, 1, 2 or 3 PQE Solicitor looking to establish or further your career in Court of Protection with a leading national practice, and you're based within commuting distance of Swindon, I'd be delighted to discuss this opportunity with you in complete confidence.
