How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Technical Contract Manager / Engineering Manager

    Location: Central London

    Salary: £65,000 - £70,000

    Contract: Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm

    Key Responsibilities

    Client Diplomacy & Strategic Partnership

Primary Client Ambassador: Act as the trusted, daily face of the business for Landlord Asset Managers, Managing Agents, and C-suite corporate tenant representatives.

Technical Communication: Bridge the gap between complex M&E operations and client expectations, translating technical engineering data into clear, actionable executive updates.

Performance Governance: Lead formal monthly and quarterly progress reviews, presenting transparent SLA/KPI reporting, compliance metrics, and asset performance insights.

    Technical Leadership & Operational Excellence

Technical Authority: Serve as the final on-site escalation point across complex MEP infrastructure, including HV/LV distribution, critical HVAC, centralized chillers, steam/gas plant, and smart BMS controls.

Showroom Standards: Drive an "engineering-first" culture, maintaining all plant rooms, workshops, and critical infrastructure spaces to immaculate, showcase-ready standards.

Incident Management: Direct emergency responses to plant failures or critical system alarms, leading rapid recovery procedures and presenting clear root-cause analyses to client stakeholders.

Statutory Compliance & Safe Systems of Work

Zero-Failure Governance: Ensure 100% statutory compliance across all M&E, water hygiene, and life-safety systems, overseeing immaculate physical and digital logbooks (ACoP L8, PSSR, Gas Safety, Fire Life Safety).

Safety Leadership: Oversee site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and govern the Permit to Work system to guarantee safe delivery across all internal and subcontractor works.

Technical Appointments: Act as or oversee on-site Authorised Persons (AP) and Competent Persons (CP) for High Voltage/Low Voltage and critical systems.

    Team & Supply Chain Leadership

Team Mentorship: Direct, motivate, and mentor a dedicated resident team of Supervisors, Multi-Skilled Day/Shift Engineers, and Contract Support personnel.

Subcontractor Governance: Procure and audit specialist third-party contractors, ensuring their service delivery aligns strictly with site safety protocols and high presentation standards.

    What We Are Looking For

    Essential Requirements:

Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience operating as a Technical Contract Manager, Engineering Manager, or Senior Technical Account Manager within a high-profile Central London commercial landmark or Landlord & Tenant portfolio.

Client-Facing Presence: Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with a polished, consultative approach suitable for interacting with senior landlord and tenant executives.

Technical Qualification: Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in an Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering discipline (HNC/HND or BEng is highly advantageous).

Regulations & Safety: 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.

High Voltage Exposure: HV experience or an active HV Authorised Person (HVAP) ticket is highly desirable; candidates with strong HV exposure and a willingness to complete fully funded HVAP training will be strongly considered.

Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of statutory health & safety legislation, SFG20 maintenance standards, and ACoP L8 water hygiene regulations.
