How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are delighted to be representing an industry-recognised and highly respected firm of Chartered Surveyors, renowned for delivering quality and innovation across the built environment. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist or Building Surveyor with strong CAD and design capability to join their dynamic Bristol-based team.

    The Role

You will play a key role in providing technical design and project delivery support across a diverse range of building improvement, adaptation, and refurbishment projects. These will include schemes within the Higher Education, Ministry of Justice, NHS, and wider public realm sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically capable and detail-driven professional to apply design expertise in a practical, project-focused environment-working closely with surveyors, architects, and project managers to bring projects from feasibility through to delivery.

    Technical Responsibilities

Prepare and develop technical design drawings, specifications, and tender documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
Provide technical detailing to support design proposals.
Contribute to feasibility studies, design coordination, and compliance with Building Regulations, CDM, and statutory requirements.
Assist in preparing specifications, schedules of work, and technical reports.
Provide technical input to support the delivery of refurbishment, adaptation, and maintenance projects.
(Optional) Opportunity to run and deliver your own projects from inception to completion, supported by senior colleagues.

    About You

Qualified in Architectural Technology or Building Surveying (degree or equivalent).
Strong technical design and detailing skills, with experience producing coordinated drawing packages.
Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD (experience in 3D modelling and BIM Level 2 workflows advantageous).
Knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and specification writing.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with a collaborative working style.
A proactive approach and enthusiasm to develop within a supportive, high-performing team.
Three to five year`s of relevelant experience preferred.

    Why Join?

Work as part of a friendly, professional, and high-performing team that values collaboration and innovation.
Join a firm with a strong reputation for technical excellence and client service.
Excellent career development opportunities, ongoing CPD support, and structured professional growth.
Hybrid working arrangements with a modern Bristol office base.
Competitive salary and full benefits package.

As part of the selection process, candidates will be asked to present a portfolio or examples of previous work to demonstrate technical design capability.

If you're looking to join a successful and forward-thinking team where your technical skills will be valued and developed, we'd love to hear from you.
