About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in young people's lives? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to partner with a thriving, highly regarded secondary school in the beautiful town of Ulverston to find a passionate Teaching Assistant for the upcoming academic year.
In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the SEN department to support secondary students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will play a vital role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with varied learning needs.
Assisting class teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
Helping create an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
Fostering strong relationships with students, helping them develop social and emotional skills.
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the SENCO and teachers.
What We Are Looking For
Prior experience working with children or young adults (preferably in an educational or youth work setting).
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
