How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex bids, working closely with pre-construction, design, commercial, planning and operational teams to develop compelling submissions that align with client requirements and business strategy.

    * Manage the end-to-end bid process, with a particular focus on 2nd stage tender submissions

    * Lead the transition and conversion process between Stage 1 and Stage 2 bids

    * Coordinate input from internal teams including design, technical, commercial, planning and operations

    * Develop clear bid strategies and ensure submissions are aligned with client objectives

    * Manage bid programmes, deadlines and submission requirements

    * Produce high-quality written responses, including methodologies, technical submissions and project approaches

    * Facilitate bid meetings, workshops and reviews with key stakeholders

    * Ensure all tender documentation is accurate, compliant and submitted on time

    * Support continuous improvement of bid processes and best practice across the business

    Experience Required

    * Proven experience as a Bid Manager within the construction industry

    * Strong experience managing 2nd stage bids and PCSA/conversion processes

    * Experience working through the journey from initial opportunity to successful tender submission

    * Excellent understanding of construction procurement and tender processes

    * Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams

    * Excellent written communication and attention to detail

    Desirable Experience

    * Experience of winning work and developing successful bid strategies

    * Background working on education, science, research or public sector projects

    * Experience with public sector frameworks would be advantageous

    The Package

    * Salary up to £90,000 for an exceptional candidate with significant bid-winning experience

    * Hybrid working available, with the expectation that the successful candidate will spend regular time in the office collaborating with teams

    * Based from either Oxford or Slough, with travel required across the Thames Valley region
