How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and upgrading a wide variety of specialist manufacturing and test equipment used within a high-technology engineering environment. - Improving equipment reliability and lifecycle performance

    - Supporting health & safety and engineering compliance

    - Contributing to continuous improvement and asset management initiatives.

    We're Looking For

This role would suit someone who has experience working with complex engineering systems and enjoys a varied technical environment.

    Ideal backgrounds include:

    - REME Vehicle or Electronics Technicians

    - RAF Engineering Technicians

    - Royal Navy Marine, Weapon or Aircraft Engineers

    - Experienced maintenance, manufacturing or facilities engineers

You'll ideally have experience of some of the following:

    - Working safely on critical engineering systems.

    What You'll Bring

    - A practical, hands-on approach to engineering

    - Excellent problem-solving skills

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    - Strong communication skills

    - A commitment to safety and engineering excellence

    - The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    What's on Offer

    - Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 for a 37 ½ hour week, Mon to Fri

    - Excellent benefits package

    - Ongoing technical training and professional development

    - Long-term career progression

    - Work on specialist, cutting-edge engineering equipment

    Why Veterans Excel Here

Military engineers are used to maintaining complex equipment under pressure, diagnosing faults quickly and working safely on mission-critical systems. The structured engineering training, attention to detail and problem-solving mindset developed in the Armed Forces make veterans exceptionally well suited to this role.

If you're looking to continue your engineering career in a technically challenging civilian environment where your military experience will be genuinely valued, we'd love to hear from you.
