How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Roofer with a strong background in roofing repairs and maintenance, flat and pitched  We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established property maintenance contractor for a permanent Roofer to join their growing team in Fareham.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Roofer looking to work within a supportive organisation delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance to residential properties. You'll be part of a professional team committed to exceptional workmanship, customer service, and health and safety standards, must have flat and pitched experience, you will be working in social housing, schools, other commercial properties.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out inspections to identify roofing defects and determine the most effective repair methods on all aspects of roofs.
    Complete repairs and maintenance on flat, pitched, tiled, and slate roofs.
    Deliver all work to a high standard, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity targets are met.
    Complete job documentation accurately using handheld devices or paperwork.
    Maintain a professional and courteous approach when working in occupied homes.
    Work flexibly to support operational requirements and service delivery.
    Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
    Live within a 20 mile radius of Fareham.

    Skills & Experience

    NVQ Level 2 in Roofing Occupations or equivalent qualification.
    Minimum of three years' roofing experience, ideally within social housing or property maintenance.
    Strong knowledge of roofing materials, repair techniques, and industry best practices.
    Ability to accurately diagnose roofing issues and recommend suitable repairs.
    Good communication skills with experience using mobile devices or PDAs to manage workloads.
    Well organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
    Full UK driving licence.
    PASMA or TETRA training would be advantageous.
    Successful applicants will be required to pass a DBS check before employment.
    Provide 2 x sources of references.
