How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead one of London's most prestigious commercial estates!

    We're recruiting on behalf of a leading Facilities Management provider for a Lead Building Services Engineer to oversee engineering operations across a flagship commercial estate in Central London.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer to take ownership of a portfolio of 14 high profile commercial buildings, managing a team of five engineers while remaining technically involved.

    If you enjoy leading from the front and want to progress your career with genuine stability and development opportunities, we'd like to hear from you.

    The Role

    You'll be responsible for delivering a first-class maintenance service across a prestigious multi-building estate, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

    The role offers a great balance between leadership and technical work with a mix of team leadership and operational management and hands-on mechanical engineering.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead, mentor and develop a team of five Building Services Engineers.

    * Manage engineering activities across a portfolio of 14 commercial buildings.

    * Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.

    * Act as the technical lead for mechanical building services.

    * Allocate workloads and ensure service delivery meets contractual KPIs.

    * Carry out hands-on maintenance and fault finding where required.

    * Manage subcontractors and specialist contractors.

    * Ensure statutory compliance, permits to work and health & safety standards are maintained.

    * Build strong relationships with the client and site stakeholders.

    * Identify opportunities to improve engineering performance and service delivery.

    What We're Looking For

    * Previous experience as a Lead Building Services Engineer or equivalent.

    * NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

    * Strong mechanical bias within commercial building services.

    * Experience managing engineers within a live commercial environment.

    What's on Offer

    * Salary of £50,000-£53,000.

    * Temp to Perm opportunity.

    * Long-term career progression with a leading FM organisation.

    * Ongoing training and professional development
