How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Goodman Masson are delighted to be partnering with Local Space to recruit a Compliance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-led organisation with a strong social purpose, ensuring residents live in safe, compliant homes while leading the operational delivery of statutory compliance across a diverse housing portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Building Safety & Compliance, you'll take ownership of the organisation's landlord compliance programmes across the Big 6 (FLAGEL) disciplines, managing contractors, compliance data, operational performance and regulatory assurance to ensure compliance is maintained to the highest standards.

If you're an experienced Compliance Manager, Building Safety professional or M&E Compliance specialist looking for a role with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to make a tangible difference, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

As Compliance Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day management of statutory compliance programmes across the housing portfolio, ensuring legal, regulatory and organisational requirements are consistently achieved.

You'll lead contractor performance, manage compliance risk, maintain robust compliance records and provide assurance through high-quality reporting, helping the organisation remain continuously audit-ready.

Working closely with Building Safety, Asset Management and operational teams, you'll play a key role in embedding a proactive, resident-focused culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage compliance across the Big 6 (FLAGEL) disciplines, including:

    Fire Safety
    Electrical Safety
    Asbestos
    Water Hygiene / Legionella
    Lifts & LOLER

Ensure all inspections, servicing and remedial works are completed within statutory and organisational timescales.
Manage compliance contractors, consultants and specialist service providers, driving high performance and value for money.
Chair regular contract performance meetings, monitoring KPIs, SLAs, compliance performance and resident outcomes.
Review and validate compliance certification, contractor reporting and statutory records.
Maintain accurate and auditable compliance data across asset and compliance management systems.
Produce operational, executive and Board-level compliance reports.
Support procurement, mobilisation and ongoing management of compliance contracts.
Manage compliance risks, incidents and service failures, ensuring appropriate escalation where required.
Lead access processes for statutory inspections, including legal escalation where necessary.
Work collaboratively with Asset Management and Building Safety teams to strengthen governance, assurance and regulatory compliance.

    About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience delivering landlord compliance services within social housing, local authority or residential property environments.

    You'll ideally have:

Significant experience managing statutory compliance programmes within social housing.
Strong understanding of landlord compliance obligations across the Big 6 (FLAGEL) compliance areas.
Experience managing compliance contractors and improving operational performance.
Knowledge of current housing legislation, regulatory requirements and Consumer Standards.
Experience working with compliance management systems, asset databases and compliance reporting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interrogate compliance data and identify risks.
Experience producing compliance reports for senior leadership and governance.
Excellent contractor management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
A relevant qualification or significant experience within one or more compliance disciplines (Gas, Fire, Electrical, Asbestos, Water Hygiene or Lifts).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a financially strong, highly regarded Housing Association that places resident safety, compliance and customer service at the heart of everything it does.
