How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant

    Location: Clapham, Wandsworth
    Position: Teaching Assistant
    Start Date: September
    Pay: £1,900 - £2,400 per month

    A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Clapham is offering an exciting opportunity for a teaching assistant to join its specialist SEN Resource Base from September. This teaching assistant role involves supporting children with high-functioning autism within a dedicated autism provision, while also helping pupils successfully access learning opportunities within the wider school community where appropriate.

    The school is committed to ensuring every child feels valued, included and inspired to achieve their full potential. Through high expectations, an ambitious curriculum and a nurturing approach, the school empowers children to become confident, independent and resilient learners. This teaching assistant position would suit someone who is passionate about inclusive education, child development and supporting children with autism to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

    The successful teaching assistant will work closely with the wider inclusion team to deliver personalised support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). As a teaching assistant, you will help create a structured, engaging and inclusive learning environment, adapting learning to meet individual needs while promoting communication, independence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour. The school places children at the heart of everything it does and is looking for a teaching assistant who shares its commitment to inclusion, collaboration, safeguarding and achieving the very best outcomes for every pupil.

    Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

    Supporting children with high-functioning autism within the SEN Resource Base as a teaching assistant
    Delivering individual and small-group interventions as a teaching assistant
    Supporting pupils to access learning both within the resource base and mainstream classrooms where appropriate
    Encouraging communication, social interaction, independence and emotional well being
    Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues as a teaching assistant
    Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team as a teaching assistant

    Requirements for a Teaching Assistant:

    Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
    A genuine interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
    Previous childcare, education or SEND experience, either formally or informally
    Excellent communication skills, patience and a positive attitude
    Right to work in the UK

    Desirable for a Teaching Assistant:

    Experience working within an SEN Resource Base or autism provision
    Knowledge of autism-friendly strategies, visual supports or communication approaches
    An honours degree (preferably a 2:1 or above) or equivalent
