How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you'll deliver Electrical Installation up to Level 3, working with both 16-18 learners and adult learners aged 19+. You'll deliver a mixture of practical and theory-based teaching, prepare and plan engaging sessions, mark assessments, provide learner feedback, and support students as they develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in the industry.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong Electrical Installation background with at least 5 years' industry experience. You must hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and a Testing & Inspecting qualification. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential, as full teacher training, mentoring, and development will be provided for candidates coming directly from industry.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrical professional to transition into education, gain teaching qualifications, and make a lasting impact on the next generation of electricians.

    The role:

    Deliver Electrical Installation up to Level 3.
    Teach both 16-18 learners and adult learners aged 19+.
    Deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
    Plan and prepare lessons, mark assessments, and provide learner feedback.
    Work with class sizes typically around 18-20 learners, depending on level.
    New teachers typically teach around 19.5 hours per week.
    Experienced teachers typically teach around 22.5-24 hours per week.
    Potential adult evening class delivery from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.
    Full teacher training, mentoring, and development provided.
    Excellent package including Teachers' Pension, 58 days holiday, potential golden hello, and teacher incentive payments.
    The person:

    Electrical Installation background essential.
    Ideally at least 5 years' industry experience.
    Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
    Testing & Inspecting qualification.
    Strong theoretical understanding of Electrical Installation principles.
    Confident communicating technical concepts to learners up to Level 3.
    Teaching experience desirable but not essential.
    Enthusiastic, honest, reliable, and a strong team player.
