52 week contractAbout the Role
We're looking for a proactive School Cleaning Charge Hand to support the Contract Manager and Cleaning Manager in delivering a high-quality cleaning service.
You'll lead by example, supervise the cleaning team, and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that meets both Sodexo and client standards.
What You'll Do
Support the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services.
Supervise and support the cleaning team.
Maintain high cleaning standards across the site.
Help manage the contract to agreed quality and performance targets.
Promote and monitor Health & Safety compliance.
Carry out regular quality checks and support team performance.
Assist with ECAT audits, safety walks and near miss reporting.
Ensure cleaning equipment is safe, maintained and reported if faulty.
Follow and promote COSHH procedures and safe chemical use.
Support cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Deliver excellent customer service to staff, pupils and visitors.
Respond to customer feedback and escalate issues where needed.
Report accidents, incidents or damage promptly.
Provide cover during holidays and sickness when required.
Attend training and team meetings, sharing key updates with colleagues.
Complete additional reasonable duties as requested by management, including occasional overtime.What You'll Bring
Essential
Experience in the cleaning or housekeeping industry.
Previous experience supervising a team.
Good knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
A professional approach with high standards of personal presentation.
