How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an ambitious Architectural Technologist with a few years of hands-on experience, ready to step up, take ownership of packages.

Join a practice where you’ll play a key role in turning design concepts into fully coordinated technical reality. You won’t just be sitting behind a screen drawing details—you’ll be running smaller projects, leading key technical packages on larger developments, visiting sites, and developing direct client relationships, all with the support of an experienced senior team.

    Why Join?

    *

Real Project Ownership: Take the lead on job packages from Stage 3 onwards, heading out to site and taking genuine responsibility for delivery—without being thrown in the deep end without support.

    *

Chartership Support: Active mentoring and financial support to help you achieve your MCIAT status, alongside opportunities to start guiding junior technicians.

    *

Diverse Workload: Broaden your skillset across a varied portfolio using BIM/Revit and industry-standard tools on real-world, complex schemes.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Technical Delivery: Produce fully coordinated drawing packages, construction details, and NBS specifications using Revit and AutoCAD. Assist in integrating sustainability standards (BREEAM, Building Regs Part L) into technical designs.

    *

Regulatory & Planning Submissions: Draft, assemble, and submit Building Regulations and Planning packages with minimal supervision.

    *

On-Site & Technical Surveys: Conduct measured site surveys, attend site progress meetings, coordinate with sub-contractors, and assist with contract administration support.

    *

Consultant Coordination: Work directly with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and contractors to resolve technical details and overcome design bottlenecks on-site.

    *

Client Interaction: Participate in client progress meetings, helping translate project briefs into practical, buildable solutions.

    What They're Looking For

    Essential:

    *

Education: Degree in Architectural Technology (or equivalent HND/BSc level).

    *

Experience: 3–5 years of UK-based post-qualification experience in a professional practice or consultancy setting.

    *

Software: Proven, daily proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (BIM coordination experience is a strong plus).

    *

Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, standard construction detailing, and producing technical specification packages (NBS).

    *

Professional Status: Associate CIAT (ACIAT) or actively working toward Chartered status (MCIAT).

    Desirable:

    *

Previous exposure to site visits, measured surveys, and contractor queries (RFIs).

    *

A clear, confident communication style when speaking with clients and external consultants
