How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you experienced in managing digital engineering tools and CAD environments on major rail infrastructure projects?
    Do you have a strong understanding of engineering design software, digital collaboration platforms, and information management across multidisciplinary rail teams?
    Digital Tools Lead
    Location: London (Hybrid)
    Rate: Inside IR35
    Sector: Rail / HS2 Rail Systems
    This is an excellent opportunity to join a major HS2 Rail Systems programme, leading the mobilisation, optimisation, and support of digital engineering tools used across complex design and delivery packages.
    You'll be responsible for:
    ·Leading the mobilisation and continuous improvement of digital engineering tools across the programme.
    ·Supporting and administering engineering design environments, including Bentley and Autodesk platforms.
    ·Managing collaboration through Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
    ·Supporting ProjectWise and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
    ·Working with engineering teams to ensure CAD standards, templates and digital processes are consistently applied.
    ·Supporting software deployment, user adoption and technical governance.
    ·Collaborating with Design Managers, Digital Engineering teams and IT to improve engineering workflows and productivity.
    ·Providing technical support and guidance for engineering software and digital tools.
    You'll need:
    ·Previous experience in a Digital Tools Lead, Engineering Systems, CAD Systems, or Digital Engineering role within rail or major infrastructure.
    ·Strong knowledge of engineering design software, including Bentley MicroStation, OpenRail Designer, ProjectWise, and/or AutoCAD.
    ·Experience supporting Common Data Environments (CDE) and engineering information management.
    ·Understanding of CAD standards, digital engineering workflows, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
    ·Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams administration.
    ·Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    ·Previous experience working on HS2 or major UK rail infrastructure programmes is essential
