How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Geoenvironmental Engineer

    South West | Up to £35,000 + Benefits

    Ready to build your career with a growing consultancy?

    We're expanding our South West team and are looking for a Geoenvironmental Engineer to join us. If you enjoy a mix of fieldwork and technical office-based work, and want to work on a diverse range of projects, we'd love to hear from you.

    From residential developments and commercial schemes to major infrastructure and brownfield regeneration, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ground investigation and contaminated land projects while developing your technical skills alongside an experienced team.

    What You'll Be Doing

    * Planning and supervising ground investigations.

    * Logging soils and rock and overseeing laboratory testing.

    * Carrying out contaminated land and geoenvironmental assessments.

    * Preparing factual and interpretative reports.

    * Supporting geotechnical assessments and design.

    * Working closely with clients, contractors and project teams.

    * Delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.

    What We're Looking For

    * A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

    * Previous consultancy experience in a geoenvironmental or geotechnical role.

    * Strong communication and report-writing skills.

    * A proactive approach and willingness to learn.

    * Full UK driving licence.
