The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cleaning & Security Services Trainer to join a busy operational services team.
This role is responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering training programmes across Cleaning and Security teams, ensuring employees have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to perform their roles to the highest standards.
Working closely with operational managers and key stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting workforce development, maintaining training compliance, and driving continuous improvement across a large and diverse workforce.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trainer with a background in Facilities Management, Security, Cleaning Operations, Learning & Development, or another service-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
Deliver engaging classroom, practical, and workplace-based training sessions.
Facilitate operational training programmes for Cleaning and Security teams.
Deliver toolbox talks, refresher training, and skills development sessions.
Support induction programmes for new starters.
Adapt training delivery to meet evolving operational requirements.
Training Coordination
Plan and maintain training schedules and calendars.
Coordinate training activities across multiple locations and teams.
Arrange training venues, resources, and attendee communications.
Ensure mandatory and refresher training is completed within required timescales.
Manage training bookings, attendance records, and course administration.
Learning & Development
Support the development and continuous improvement of training programmes.
Work with managers to identify training needs and capability gaps.
Monitor training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Promote best practice and operational standards across teams.
Compliance & Reporting
Maintain accurate training records and training matrices.
Produce reports and training compliance data.
Track mandatory training completion rates and certification renewals.
Support audits and compliance reviews.
Analyse training data and provide recommendations for improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong working relationships with managers, employees, training providers, and contractors.
Support wider learning and development initiatives.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to operational teams.
Attend regular meetings and contribute to workforce development planning.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience delivering in-house training programmes.
Experience delivering training within a facilities management, security, cleaning, operational, or service-led environment.
Relevant training qualification or significant experience in training delivery.
Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Experience coordinating training programmes and managing training records.
Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to engage, motivate, and influence employees at all levels.
Desirable Requirements
SIA Licence.
Train the Trainer qualification.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent.
Learning & Development qualification.
Experience delivering security-related training.
Experience delivering cleaning or facilities-based operational training.
Knowledge of compliance-led operational environments.
Experience managing training matrices and performance data.
IOSH Working Safely or similar Health & Safety qualification.
