An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) to join a major construction and engineering business delivering some of the UK's most complex building and infrastructure projects.
This role sits within a specialist Building Services commercial team and offers exposure to large-scale MEP packages across commercial, mission critical, and technically challenging construction projects.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing the commercial interests of the business while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of significant MEP packages and supporting successful project delivery from procurement through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and manage MEP contracts throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure contractual obligations and responsibilities are effectively managed
Monitor contract notices, terms, conditions, and entitlements
Manage applications, valuations, payments, and variations
Lead change management and variation recovery processes
Support dispute avoidance and resolution activities
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Manage commercial risk and maximise project profitability
Monitor subcontractor performance and commercial compliance
Support the delivery of projects in line with quality, safety, and financial objectives
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience leading MEP commercial activities on major construction projects
Experience managing multiple subcontract packages valued at £5M-£10M+
Strong knowledge of commercial and contract law
Experience working under Design & Build contracts
Ability to manage client expectations and commercial negotiations
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline
Relevant CSCS Card
SMSTS certification
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
