How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor to join their expanding national team.

    The successful Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor will complete high-quality fire risk assessments across a varied portfolio of complex premises. Projects may include healthcare facilities, educational buildings, manufacturing sites, offices, retail units, hospitality venues and private hospitals.

    This is a field-based position involving regional and national travel, with fire risk assessment reports completed from home.

    The Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor's Role

    The Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor will:

    Undertake suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments in line with PAS 79 guidance.
    Inspect buildings, fire precautions and existing management arrangements.
    Identify hazards, assess risk levels and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
    Prepare accurate, professional and clearly structured fire risk assessment reports.
    Prioritise recommendations according to severity, urgency and potential impact.
    Advise Responsible Persons, building owners and property managers on compliance matters.
    Help clients understand their responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and other relevant UK fire safety requirements.
    Maintain a professional, practical and client-focused approach during every assessment.

    The Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor

    The successful Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor will have:

    A recognised Level 4 qualification in fire risk assessment.
    At least two years' experience completing fire risk assessments across multiple property types.
    Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and recognised assessment standards.
    Membership of an appropriate fire safety professional body.
    Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
    A full UK driving licence.
    The flexibility to travel throughout the UK when required.

    A salary of £45,000- £50,000
