How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Risk Assessor to support the continued growth of their national fire risk assessment service.

    The successful Senior Fire Risk Assessor will complete detailed fire risk assessments across a varied portfolio of complex buildings. Projects may include healthcare facilities, education sites, manufacturing premises, commercial properties, retail units, hospitality venues and private hospitals.

    The Senior Fire Risk Assessor will also provide technical guidance, support less experienced assessors and help maintain consistently high reporting standards.

    The Senior Fire Risk Assessor's Role

    The Senior Fire Risk Assessor will:

    Undertake suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments in line with PAS 79 guidance.
    Assess complex buildings, management procedures and existing fire safety arrangements.
    Identify hazards and provide practical, proportionate and prioritised recommendations.
    Produce accurate, professional and clearly structured fire risk assessment reports.
    Advise Responsible Persons, building owners and property managers on fire safety compliance.
    Support clients in understanding their duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
    Review reports and provide technical support to other fire risk assessors.
    Assist with quality assurance and the development of internal fire risk assessment procedures.
    Maintain a professional and client-focused approach across every project.

    The Senior Fire Risk Assessor

    The successful Senior Fire Risk Assessor will have:

    A recognised Level 4 fire risk assessment qualification.
    At least four years' experience completing fire risk assessments.
    Experience across a range of complex and higher-risk building types.
    Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and recognised industry guidance.
    Membership of a recognised fire safety professional body.
    Excellent report-writing, technical and communication skills.
    A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
