How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Prepare statutory financial statements under FRS 102 for individual entities and, where appropriate, consolidated groups.

    * Ensure that financial statements comply with applicable accounting standards, Companies Act requirements and UK Group accounting policies.

    * Prepare or update significant statutory disclosures, including those relating to leases, financial instruments, provisions, related parties and business combinations.

    Technical Accounting Research

    * Research accounting matters arising under FRS 102, UK company law and other relevant technical guidance.

    * Analyse the accounting implications of new standards, amendments and regulatory developments.

    * Maintain appropriate supporting references and documentation for technical conclusions.

    * Escalate complex, judgemental or uncertain matters to the Group Technical Accountant.

    * Develop knowledge of IFRS and HGB where relevant to UK Group and parent company reporting.

    Technical Accounting Papers/Policies

    * Draft technical accounting papers for review by the Group Technical Accountant.

    * Clearly document the relevant facts, applicable accounting requirements, analysis and recommended treatment.

    * Assist with the preparation and maintenance of UK Group accounting policies.

    * Update accounting manuals, process notes and technical guidance following changes in accounting standards or UK Group policies.

    * Maintain records of accounting judgements, estimates and policy decisions.

    * Ensure that technical documentation is complete, accurate and suitable for audit review.

    Acquisitions & Transactions

    * Support the Group Technical Accountant with acquisitions, disposals, restructures and other corporate transactions.

    * Prepare supporting calculations and schedules for purchase price allocations, goodwill, intangible assets, leases and deferred consideration.

    * Assist with the preparation of acquisition accounting papers and financial statement disclosures.

    * Support post-acquisition accounting and the integration of acquired entities into Group reporting processes.

    Audit Support

    * Prepare supporting documentation for external audit.

    * Assist the Group Technical Accountant with complex audit matters.

    * Ensure that agreed audit adjustments and disclosure amendments are accurately reflected in the statutory accounts.

    * Build effective and professional working relationships with external auditors.

    Year-End & Group Reporting

    * Support the year-end reporting processes, both UK Group and parent company reporting.

    * Prepare technical schedules, reconciliations and disclosure information.

    * Assist with the review of entity reporting submissions for compliance with Group accounting policies.

    * Assist with the analysis and reconciliation of differences between UK statutory reporting and Group reporting requirements.

    Processes & Controls

    * Assist with improving statutory reporting processes and accounting documentation.

    * Maintain templates, disclosure checklists and standard technical-paper formats.

    * Identify inconsistencies or weaknesses in accounting records and raise them with the Group Technical Accountant.

    * Use systems and technology to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

The role will likely suit a Newly Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant who has trained in Practice, and is looking first a first move into Industry, although a QBE with demonstrable technical accounting experience would be considered.
Strong understanding of FRS102 as well as excellent statutory reporting experience is required for this role. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a strong interest in technical accounting and statutory reporting, and possess the ability to research accounting requirements and apply them to practical situations.
