How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Be part of the UK's most ambitious energy project

Join the Team Delivering the UK's Energy Future.

We are recruiting an electrically biased Construction Delivery Manager to support the safe and efficient delivery of electrical works at Hinkley Point C.

Despite the job title, this is not a high-level programme management or office-based leadership position. We are looking for a practical, field-focused electrical construction professional who is comfortable working directly alongside contractors, supervisors, engineers and site delivery teams.

The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field, monitoring HV and LV installation activities, power earthing works, construction safety, quality and compliance within the Unit 1 electrical building.

This opportunity may suit an experienced Electrical Site Manager, Electrical Construction Manager, Electrical Supervisor, Electrical Field Engineer or Construction Engineer who is ready to take greater responsibility for site delivery.

    The Role

Reporting to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and supporting the Construction Delivery Lead, you will provide day-to-day oversight of electrical construction activities.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Monitoring HV and LV electrical installation and power earthing activities in the field.
Supporting the delivery of electrical works in accordance with BS 7671, the Electricity at Work Regulations and project requirements.
Maintaining a visible presence on site and identifying safety, quality, sequencing or constructability concerns.
Working directly with contract partners to ensure work is delivered safely, correctly and in line with the agreed programme.
Reviewing construction sequencing, available resources and short-term recovery plans.
Undertaking and recording safety, quality and assurance inspections.
Producing clear and accurate daily site logs and escalating significant issues through detailed reports.
Supporting the resolution of site constraints before they affect construction progress.
Coordinating with health and safety, quality, surveillance, logistics, commercial and project controls teams.
Attending contractor pre-start, PLOD and PLOW meetings and ensuring actions are properly recorded.
Supporting tactical logistics planning for electrical work areas.
Challenging unsafe or non-compliant activities and recommending appropriate temporary or corrective measures.
Maintaining clear two-way communication between contractors and the wider construction delivery team.

    About You

You will be a practical and confident electrical construction professional who enjoys being out on site and close to the work.

You should be comfortable inspecting installations, speaking with supervisors and trades, challenging poor practice and helping contractors overcome day-to-day delivery problems.

    Essential Experience

Strong field-based electrical construction or installation experience.
Experience delivering HV and LV electrical works within a major construction, infrastructure or industrial environment.
    A current BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.
A good understanding of Principal Contractor responsibilities under the CDM Regulations.
Experience monitoring contractors and coordinating site activities.
Knowledge of construction sequencing, resource planning and recovery planning.
The ability to identify and escalate safety, quality and delivery concerns.
Strong written reporting skills, including the preparation of site logs and concise construction reports.
An electrical engineering, construction management or relevant vocational qualification.
    Strong communication and organisational skills.
The confidence to work with multiple site stakeholders while remaining focused on practical delivery.

    Desirable Experience

Power earthing or temporary electrical distribution experience.
    Experience working with high-voltage equipment.
Knowledge of BS 7375 for the distribution of electricity on construction and building sites.
    SMSTS or IOSH certification.
Experience within nuclear, power generation, substations, utilities, major infrastructure or another highly regulated environment.
Previous experience working on a large new-build construction project.
Experience operating within a high-security environment.

The Person We Are Looking For

This role will suit someone who:

Prefers being in the field rather than sitting behind a desk.
Can build effective working relationships with supervisors, engineers and contractors.
Is confident challenging unsafe, poor-quality or non-compliant work.
Can recognise practical construction problems and help coordinate solutions.
Remains calm and professional in a busy delivery environment.
Takes ownership of actions and follows issues through to completion.
Places safety and quality at the centre of every decision.

    Why Join Hinkley Point C?

Play a pivotal role in one of Europe's largest low-carbon energy projects.
Be part of a world-class engineering and delivery team.
Long-term work stability on a high-profile, nationally significant infrastructure project.
Accommodation support and allowances for non-local professionals.
Career-defining opportunity with exposure to major nuclear construction methodology.
