How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MIG Welder

    Are you a MIG Welder looking for your next contract opportunity? Do you have experience welding mild steel and producing high-quality work to engineering drawings? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

    Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business, is seeking a MIG Welder to join their team in Nottingham on an initial 2-month contract, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will have a strong fabrication and welding background, experience working with mild steel, and the ability to work to a high standard in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Job Description
    • Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components to engineering specifications
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
    • Assemble and weld fabricated parts to a high standard of quality
    • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements
    • Perform basic fabrication tasks where required
    • Maintain a safe and organised working environment in line with health and safety procedures
    • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to meet production deadlines
    • Carry out routine maintenance and care of welding equipment
    • Identify and report any quality or production issues promptly
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing team

    MIG Welder

    Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
    • Proven experience as a MIG Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
    • Strong experience welding mild steel
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship
    • Experience using workshop tools and fabrication equipment
    • Good understanding of health and safety procedures within a manufacturing environment
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Reliable, motivated, and able to meet production deadlines
