How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Engineering team as a Reach / Indus Engineer at our Slough site.

    About Safran Electrical Components - Slough
    Safran Electrical Components (SEC) specialises in the design, development, and qualification of high-performance electrical interconnection components used in demanding aerospace environments.

    Your Role
    Lead the industrialisation of new products from concept to production, while ensuring the re-industrialisation and compliance of existing products in line with business and regulatory requirements.
    Key Responsibilities will include:
    Industrialisation & Process Development
    -Lead industrialisation of new products and manage major changes impacting existing products
    -Define, develop, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost performance
    -Design and introduce new processes, equipment, and production flows
    -Specify tooling, equipment, and manufacturing methods (including special processes such as coating, bonding, plating)
    -Estimate costs, define time standards, and optimise production performance and yield

    Project Management
    -Lead projects end-to-end using a structured gated process
    -Define objectives with Engineering / Program / Product teams and ensure delivery (cost, quality, timeline)
    -Coordinate internal and external stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, suppliers)
    -Produce and manage key documentation (PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, VSM, etc.)
    -Track progress, risks, and KPIs, and report to stakeholders

    Tools, Equipment & Design
    -Design tools and fixtures (2D/3D CAD)
    -Define machine requirements and commissioning plans
    -Develop proof of concepts (e.g. 3D printing)

    REACH & Compliance / Sustainability
    -Act as a key contributor to REACH compliance across products, materials, and processes (including SVHC monitoring)
    -Support re-industrialisation initiatives driven by regulatory or environmental changes
    -Improve sustainability of manufacturing processes

    Collaboration & Team Contribution
    -Work closely with cross-functional teams: Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement
    -Engage stakeholders across UK and international sites
    -Support and mentor less experienced team members
    -Promote best practices and ensure process adherence

    Reporting & Communication
    -Monitor and report on industrialisation delivery and KPIs
    -Manage priorities and capacity planning
    -Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities clearly to stakeholders

    What You'll Bring

    Essential
    -Engineering degree (Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing)
    -Experience in industrialisation / production engineering in a manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, or similar)
    -Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
    -Knowledge of manufacturing processes and process validation (including special processes)
    -Exposure to REACH / material compliance

    Desirable
    -Knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
    -Experience with IMDS / BOM compliance
    -Experience leading STEERCO meetings and industrial readiness reviews
