How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an ambitious Building Surveyor looking for the right environment to achieve your APC and build a successful career?

    Conrad Consulting is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected property consultancy that is investing in the next generation of Chartered Building Surveyors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, close-knit team where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of professional and project work while receiving structured APC support from experienced Chartered Surveyors.

    The Role

    Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of commercial property instructions, developing the skills and competencies required to successfully complete your APC.

    No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work on both professional and project-based commissions across a varied property portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    Assisting with building surveys and technical inspections.

    Preparing schedules of condition and dilapidations.

    Supporting the delivery of contract administration services.

    Assisting with refurbishment and maintenance projects.

    Carrying out defect diagnosis and preparing technical reports.

    Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.

    Preparing specifications and tender documentation.

    Attending client meetings and site visits.

    Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

    Working towards achieving MRICS through the APC pathway.

    About You

    The successful candidate will be motivated, eager to learn and committed to building a long-term career within Building Surveying.

    Requirements

    BSc (or equivalent) in Building Surveying.

    Working towards APC or intending to enrol.

    Previous experience within a consultancy or private practice environment (placement year experience will also be considered).

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

    A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn.

    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

    Full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
