How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Carry out precision mechanical repairs, overhaul and reassembly to engineering specifications.

    * Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and maintenance documentation.

    * Assemble mechanical systems, ensuring correct fit, alignment and functionality.

    * Perform functional testing, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems where required.

    * Diagnose faults and identify practical engineering solutions.

    * Complete accurate inspection reports and workshop documentation.

    * Maintain workshop equipment and ensure tools remain calibrated.

    * Support quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Ensure completed assemblies meet the required operational and cosmetic standards.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    * Proven experience in mechanical assembly, repair or overhaul within an engineering environment.

    * Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tolerances and assembly techniques.

    * Experience working with gearboxes, transmissions or other complex mechanical systems.

    * Knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical fault diagnosis.

    * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.

    * Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

    * Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

    Desirable Experience

    * Background in aerospace, aviation, automotive, defence, marine or other highly regulated industries.

    * Experience working with safety-critical mechanical equipment.

    * Knowledge of quality management systems and workshop documentation.

    * Experience using ERP or MRP systems.

    * Understanding of 5S or lean manufacturing principles
