How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Workshop Manager
Salary: Around £65,000 to £70,000 per annum
Trades Uk are working with a Joinery/Shopfitting Contractor to recruit an experienced and capable Workshop Manager to help lead and manage their two workshops.
This is a senior and highly important role within the business. The successful candidate will work closely alongside our current Workshop Manager, who is planning to retire within the next 12 months, ensuring a smooth transition of knowledge and responsibility.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of workshop management, joinery production and procurement, who can ensure our workshops operate efficiently, cost-effectively and to the highest standards.
    The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day running of our two workshops, overseeing the production and procurement of joinery and ensuring projects are delivered to tight deadlines and within budget.
    You will also:
    * Work closely with the existing Workshop Manager during the transition period.
    * Manage and coordinate workshop production and procurement.
    * Read, develop and understand technical designs and drawings.
    * Have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks — with SolidWorks being our preferred design system.
    * Attend project sites and liaise with clients.
    * Provide design advice and practical solutions where required.
    * Work closely with project teams, clients and suppliers.
    * Ensure production is organised, efficient and cost-effective.
    * Help maintain high standards of quality, workmanship and delivery.
    * Contribute to the wider strategic direction of the business as part of the Senior Management Team.
    The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in a senior workshop or production management role, ideally within the joinery, interiors or associated manufacturing sectors.
    You will need:
    * A thorough understanding of what it takes to successfully run workshops.
    * Strong knowledge of joinery production and procurement.
    * Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with strong SolidWorks experience being particularly desirable.
    * Excellent organisational and project management skills.
    * The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.
    * Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of cost-effective production.
    * Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
    * The confidence to attend sites, meet clients and provide design advice.
    * The ability to work collaboratively as part of a senior management team.
This is a significant opportunity to join the Senior leadership team. The successful candidate will play an important role in the continued development and success of our workshops and wider business.
Salary: Around £65,000 to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
If you have the experience, technical knowledge and leadership skills required to take on this important role, we would be keen to hear from you
