How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Psychology, Criminology & Youth Studies Graduates Wanted
Launch Your Career Supporting Children & Young People

Have you recently graduated and want a career where you can genuinely make a difference?

Whether you've studied Psychology, Criminology, Youth Studies, Youth Work, Sociology, Childhood Studies, Education or a related degree, this could be the perfect opportunity to gain invaluable experience supporting vulnerable children within schools.

Aspire People works in partnership with Primary and Specialist SEND schools across South Manchester and Stockport to recruit outstanding support staff who can make a lasting impact on the lives of children facing barriers to education.

Working closely with Headteachers, SENDCOs and Senior Leadership Teams, we help schools identify the right people to support some of their most vulnerable pupils-those who need consistency, encouragement and positive relationships to help them succeed.

    The Role

As a Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced school staff to support pupils who may:

Experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
    Be disengaged from education.
Struggle with emotional regulation or behaviour.
Have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences.
Be in the care system or have challenging home circumstances.
Have Autism, ADHD or other additional needs.
Experience emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).
Need additional support to build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis, within small intervention groups or alongside the class teacher, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

We'd love to hear from graduates in:
    Psychology
    Criminology
    Youth Studies
    Youth & Community Work
    Childhood Studies
    Education Studies
    Sociology
    Social Work
    Health & Social Care
    Counselling
    Psychotherapy
    Sport & Exercise Psychology
Any degree with a focus on supporting children, young people or vulnerable communities
    School experience isn't essential.

You may have gained relevant experience through:

    University placements.
    Volunteering.
    Youth work.
    Mentoring.
    Coaching.
    Summer camps.
    Residential support.
    Community projects.
    Charity work.
Supporting children or young people in any capacity.

If you're passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and reach their potential, we'd love to hear from you.

    What we're looking for
    Compassionate and empathetic individuals.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Resilience and a calm approach under pressure.
A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
Professionals who are committed to safeguarding and inclusive education.
    Why join Aspire People?

At Aspire People, we don't simply fill vacancies-we work in partnership with schools to identify the right people to support children who need it most.

You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, SENDCOs, Pastoral Leads and Senior Leadership Teams, gaining invaluable experience that provides an excellent foundation for careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Social Work, Mental Health, Youth Justice and wider children's services.

    We offer:

Competitive daily rates with weekly pay.
Long-term opportunities with the potential for permanent employment.
Dedicated support from an experienced education consultant.
Opportunities across a range of Primary and Specialist SEND schools.

If you're looking for more than just a job and want to begin a rewarding career supporting children and young people, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and take the first step towards making a lasting difference in a child's life.
