How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Structural Engineer to lead and manage a diverse range of schemes, from domestic alterations and extensions to bespoke commercial developments.

As part of an accredited Gold Investors in People multi-disciplinary consultancy, you'll join a collaborative team where your expertise is genuinely valued, with clear pathways for career progression.

    Key Responsibilities

Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry in line with British Standards and Eurocodes.
Lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring design quality, safety, commercial efficiency, and timely delivery.
Work independently on smaller projects or collaborate as part of a team on larger schemes across multidisciplinary disciplines.
Supervise trial hole investigations for refurbishment works and conduct visual structural inspections.
Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence across the team.
Liaise directly with clients, design teams, and contractors, attending project meetings as required.
Contribute to business development, fee proposals, and tender submissions.

    What We Are Looking For

Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of British Standards and Design Codes with designs grounded in strong engineering principles.
Software Skills: Proficiency in design packages like Tekla, CADS, and Tedds (AutoCAD experience is a bonus).
Experience: Ideally 5-7+ years working within a similar engineering consultancy.
Qualifications: Relevant Engineering degree. Chartered status (ICE or IStructE) or working towards/close to achieving it.
Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence with access to a car for business use, and full Right to Work in the UK.

    What We Offer

Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements with the choice of being office-based or hybrid (home/office).
Pension: Group Personal Pension Plan with a 5% employer contribution.
Healthcare & Wellbeing: Private Healthcare Insurance, Healthcare Cash Plan, and Income Protection Scheme.
Financial Peace of Mind: Life Assurance Policy covering 4x your annual salary.
Holidays & Giving Back: 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, plus an annual company-paid volunteering day.
Professional Growth: Dedicated training and professional development plan, plus coverage of a relevant professional subscription fee.
    Perks: Cycle to Work Scheme.
