How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A well-established, family-owned regional main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Building Services Manager to support the continued growth of its Oxfordshire region. The business has a long-standing reputation across the South of England for delivering high-quality construction projects across a broad range of sectors. Their workload includes education, commercial, leisure, healthcare, heritage, public sector, refurbishment and new build schemes, with projects ranging from smaller specialist works through to more complex multi-million-pound developments.

    The Role

As Building Services Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical and electrical elements are properly reviewed, coordinated and integrated from early feasibility and tender stage through to design development, procurement and project delivery.
You will work closely with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners to make sure building services packages are technically robust, cost-effective, buildable and aligned with programme requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead MEP input across preconstruction and live project stages
Review mechanical and electrical design proposals, specifications and technical information
Support tender submissions with technical input, risk reviews and value engineering options
Manage M&E tendering processes and liaise with consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners
Work closely with Design Managers, Preconstruction Managers, Project Managers and Commercial teams
Ensure building services packages are fully coordinated, compliant and aligned with programme requirements
Provide technical advice to regional leadership and project teams
Support sustainability targets, compliance requirements and best practice across building services delivery
Identify technical risks early and help develop practical, commercially sound solutions

    About You
You will be an experienced Building Services Manager, MEP Manager or technically strong Building Services professional with a background in main contracting, consultancy or specialist M&E contracting.
    The ideal candidate will have:

Strong technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical building services
Experience working on commercial, education, healthcare, public-sector, leisure or refurbishment projects
A good understanding of preconstruction, tender reviews and design coordination
Experience managing consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence both technical and commercial decisions
A proactive, practical approach with the ability to identify issues early and provide workable solutions
Good understanding of programme, quality, cost, compliance and sustainability requirementsHow to Apply
