How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Blackstone Recruitment are working with two SEN Schools in Leyland and Darwen who are looking to recruit a permanent Speech and Language Therapist.

    Location: Leyland/Darwen

    Salary: £(phone number removed) to £(phone number removed) per annum, pro rata (depending on qualifications and experience)

    Hours: 40hrs per week - Term time only Either 4 days a week (2 days at Brooklands and 2 at Woodlands) OR (2 days a week at Brooklands only)

    Our cient are an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities with an ambitious growth plan

    They are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to work as part of a therapy team in their North West schools. Both schools provide flexible day placements for students aged 9 to 19 years with communication and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.

    When it comes to looking after our young people, we strive for excellence we are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who shares our vision; to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people to be happy and to make their way in the world.

    Working collaboratively with the sites, you will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our children and young people with developmental trauma, Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs.

    You will be responsible for holding a small speech and language therapy caseload for the two special schools, you will also contribute to staff training, consultation and reflective practice. Both a challenging and rewarding role, this position would suit a resilient and enthusiastic individual, with a therapeutic approach and the ability to make decisions, as well as manage their own workload.

    Skills & Qualifications

    Essential Criteria:

    * You will be a registered member of RCSLT and HCPC

    * Hold a professional Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.

    * As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a car is required.
