How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hub Engineering Manager

    Location: Barrow-in-Furness
    Rate: £650–£900 per day
    Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday

    We are currently recruiting for a Hub Engineering Manager to join a major gas terminal based in Barrow-in-Furness.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hub Engineering Manager to provide engineering leadership across the Morecambe Hub, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical gas assets.

    As the Hub Engineering Manager, you will report to the Operations Director and lead engineering activities across the site. The Hub Engineering Manager will be responsible for engineering strategy, asset integrity, reliability, engineering compliance, maintenance alignment, project support, and engineering resource management.

    The Hub Engineering Manager will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure the continued safe operation of the terminal while supporting production delivery and regulatory compliance.

    Responsibilities

    * Lead engineering activities across the Morecambe Hub.

    * Drive asset integrity and engineering reliability.

    * Support maintenance strategies and engineering improvements.

    * Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

    * Oversee engineering support for capital projects and modifications.

    * Ensure compliance with COMAH, Safety Case, SEMS, and relevant industry standards.

    * Manage engineering risk and support regulatory engagement.

    * Lead engineering resources across the asset portfolio.

    Requirements

    * Degree qualified in an Engineering or Technology discipline.

    * Chartered Engineer status.

    * Proven experience as a Hub Engineering Manager or in a senior engineering leadership position within the oil & gas or energy sector.

    * Strong knowledge of asset integrity, lifecycle management, safety-critical equipment, and engineering risk management.

    * Offshore BOSIET and Offshore Medical certification are desirable.
