How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Freelance Site Manager (Holiday Cover)
    London (W10)
    3rd August - 21st August
    £250 per day

    Hill McGlynn Recruitment are proud to be working with a specialist Property Developer that delivers regeneration, refurbishment, and new build projects across the residential and public sectors.
     
    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide holiday cover on a live school refurbishment project in Kensal Road, London, for a three-week period between 3rd August and 21st August.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Site Manager with refurbishment experience to oversee the safe and successful delivery of works within a live school environment.
     
    The Role
     
    As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe environment ahead of the school's reopening.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Managing day-to-day site operations during the holiday cover period
    Supervising subcontractors and coordinating site activities
    Monitoring health and safety compliance at all times
    Overseeing quality control throughout the project
    Managing works including:
    Contract lift to replace glass
    Removal of existing insulation and sheathing boards
    Installation of new sheathing boards and EPDM systems
    External Wall Insulation (EWI) installation and rendering
    Cleaning, snagging, and final finishing works
    Scaffold striking
    Carrying out final quality inspections to ensure the site is clean, safe, and ready before pupils return
    Maintaining accurate site records and communicating progress with the project team Requirements

    Valid SMSTS
    Valid CSCS Card
    First Aid at Work Certificate
    Previous experience managing refurbishment projects
    Strong organisational and communication skills
    PASMA certification would be advantageous
    DBS certificate desirable but not essential
