How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Looking to take the next step in your housing finance career?

If you are a part- or fully-qualified accountant, or QBE, with solid experience calculating service charges within a housing association, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your expertise.

You will take ownership of service charge structures, ensuring accurate cost recovery and value for money for customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

Service Charge Administration: Prepare accurate estimates and actuals statements across fixed and variable tenures, ensuring strict legislative and lease compliance.
Financial Control: Administer sinking funds, review apportionment methodologies, and prepare robust audit files for external auditors.
Scrutiny & Analysis: Review external management company estimates and invoices, investigate budget variances, and produce regular financial KPIs.
Collaboration: Partner with Asset Management, Development, and Housing teams to identify rechargeable costs, support dispute resolutions, and assist with Section 20 consultations.

This is a hybrid role working 3-4 days per week at the HQ in Chatham, Kent (free onsite parking). Salary £40,680 plus annual bonus, generous holiday allowance and 6% pension.

    What you’ll bring:

Housing Experience: Proven experience calculating and monitoring service charges within a housing association environment.
Qualifications: You will ideally be either part- or fully-qualified with a relevant accounting qualification, but QBE candidates will also be considered.
Analytical Skills: A sharp eye for detail to establish coding systems, scrutinise external invoices, and investigate variances.
Communication: The ability to consult effectively with residents, support colleagues with service charge queries, and demonstrate awareness of diverse customer needs.

If you have experience working within the social housing sector dealing with service charge estimates, queries, analysis, etc. then apply today to join a growing finance team
