How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation, industry best practice and client-specific requirements.

    * Monitor contractor performance through audits, inspections and behavioural safety initiatives.

    * Lead investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions.

    * Review and approve RAMS, construction methodologies and high-risk work activities.

    * Produce and present regular H&S reports, KPIs and performance updates to senior management and the client.

    * Chair health and safety meetings and contribute to project planning to ensure safety is embedded throughout delivery.

    * Support project teams in achieving programme objectives while maintaining the highest safety standards.

    * Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice sharing.

    Essential Requirements

    * Previous experience managing Health & Safety Advisors or a small H&S team.

    * Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.

    * NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) preferred; NEBOSH General Certificate is essential.

    * Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and construction best practice.

    * Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.

    * Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
