Are you an Early Years specialist looking for a stable long-term role in a supportive environment?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a friendly 2-form entry primary school in Wigan. This position is to start in September on an ongoing basis.
The Role
Working within a collaborative Reception team, you will play a vital role in supporting the transition and development of the school's youngest learners. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum.
Leading small group activities focusing on Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar), early literacy, and numeracy.
Observations and contributing to student profiles/assessments.
Providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment through indoor and outdoor play.
Supporting pupils with diverse needs, ensuring every child thrives.

This Wigan-based primary school is known for its welcoming "family" feel and its commitment to staff wellbeing. As a 2-form entry school, you will benefit from working alongside another Reception TA and teacher, allowing for shared planning and support.
Requirements
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Proven experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.
A deep understanding of the EYFS framework.
A patient, creative, and energetic approach to learning.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
Legal right to work in the UK.
