How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Attendance Officer – Secondary School

    Location: Waltham Forest, East London
    Pay: £120 - £140 per day (depending on experience)

    Are you an experienced School Attendance Officer looking for your next opportunity?

    We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Waltham Forest for an experienced Attendance Officer to join their support team on a temporary basis.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school attendance or school administration experience who is confident managing attendance procedures, working with parents and carers, and ensuring accurate pupil records.

    The Role

    As the Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the school's safeguarding and pastoral teams by promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across the school.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Monitoring daily student attendance and punctuality.
    Making first-day absence calls to parents and carers.
    Following up unexplained absences.
    Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's Management Information System (SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom).
    Producing attendance reports for senior leadership.
    Working closely with pastoral staff, safeguarding leads and external agencies where required.
    Supporting attendance interventions to improve student attendance.
    Ensuring attendance procedures comply with school policies and statutory guidance.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who has:

    Previous experience working as an Attendance Officer or within a school administration role.
    Experience using school MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    The ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload.
    A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
